Dr. Courtney K. Hopkins currently serves as a Division Chief Medical Officer for United Blood Services including Lifeblood in Memphis, Tennessee. Board Certified in Clinical Pathology and in Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking by the American Board of Pathology, Dr. Hopkins spent seven years with the American Red Cross, first in her role as Medical Director for the Southern and South Carolina Regions and then in her role as Chief Medical Officer for the East Division.
She has also previously held a position as an Assistant Professor for Emory University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Arcadia University and her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a medicine internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed her transfusion medicine fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and David School of Medicine at UCLA.
